Nothing quite says I love you like food! Gift the one you love this Valentine’s with some heart-shaped strawberry pastries that they won’t be able to say no to!

Valentine's

Ingredients

  • 2 x sheets puff pastry
  • Heart cutter
  • 2oz cream cheese
  • 1 ½ tbsp strawberry jam
  • Small diced strawberries
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Coconut Oil

Method

  1. Defrost the puff pastry halfway throwing defrosting preheat the oven to 200°C
  2. Whilst the pastry is defrosting, mix together cream cheese and jam, ensuring there are no large lumps
  3. Place in the fridge until ready to use, it’s ready to use once the mixture is no longer runny
  4. Cut the pastry into heart shapes for both the bottom and top of the mixture
  5. Transfer the bottom of the hearts onto a baking tray lined with coconut oil lined baking paper
  6. Whisk the egg and water together in a bowl and set aside
  7. Add one tsp of the cream cheese mixture to the centre of each heart then begin to spread outwards without covering the edge
  8. Next layer the strawberry mixture on top of the cream cheese without taking it to the edge, using a finger brush the edge of the pastry with the water and egg mixture
  9. Lightly cut an X in your top heart then place on top of the strawberry mixture pushing the edges downwards with a fork, using a finger brush the edge with the egg and water mixture
  10. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown
  11. Pop on a cooling rack to cool & share with the one(s) you LOVE!
